I know it feels like the winter that will never end, but in 5 short weeks we will begin our 2018 summer season! Matt, Jane, Emily, Jack, and Julianne are all returning and are looking forward to another FAST and FUN season

I apologize in advance for the length of this message, but I have a lot of information to pass along to you!

REGISTRATION: Online registration opens Sunday, April 22^nd at 7:00PM.

• To register, visit our new website canterburycrocs.swimtopia.com
• Your login and password will be the same that you used last year.
• NEW THIS YEAR! To complete registration for your swimmer(s), you will need to sign up for your volunteer shifts, so have your calendars ready!
• NEW THIS YEAR! Registration fees will include a team t-shirt for all swimmers! Please be sure to choose a size for your swimmer(s) during the registration process. T-shirts will be distributed prior to the first swim meet.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: At the end of last summer, we realized that there are several “big ticket” expenses in our future. These expenses include the replacement of our lane lines and our starting blocks. These expenses will need to be paid entirely by the swim team as they do not benefit the general pool membership. As a result, our registration fees will be increasing this year to allow us to begin saving for these expenses. Please note that any surplus will be used to the benefit of our swimmers (subsidizing team events, new equipment, etc). Please know that we realize that this increase will come as a surprise to many and an increase is not something that we take lightly, but feel it is necessary for the benefit of our swimmers and our team. Show below is the new fee breakdown:

• Online through our website
• In person at the Virginia Swim Shop on Sunday, April 22^nd from 3-5PM. The swim shop is located at NOVA Aquatics (12207 Gayton Road)
• Or via check made payable to Canterbury Recreation Association and mailed to Lori Hotem at 1805 Stonequarter Road; Henrico, VA 23238

PRACTICE: We will begin practice on Monday, May 14^th.

• The practice schedule can be referenced on our website. (Team Info – Practice Schedule).
• Similar to prior years, we will require that all new swimmers be able to swim 25 meters (one length of the pool) independently. We will use the first two weeks of practice to allow the swimmers to get comfortable in the water and will “formally” evaluated on Wednesday, May 30^th and Thursday, May 31^st.

• 6/27/2018 HOME meet versus Church Run
• 7/3/2018 AWAY meet versus Wyndham Please note this is a Tuesday, due to July 4th
• 7/11/2018 AWAY meet versus Hungary Creek
• 7/17/2018 HOME meet versus Burkwood Please note that this is a Tuesday
