Updates from the Coaches
Dear Croc Parents,
The coaching staff has enjoyed working with your children so far and are looking forward to a great swim season. As we near our first meet, I'd like to share a few announcements with you.
1. Parents of all new 8 and under swimmers - Today and tomorrow, we will evaluate your child's progress and send home a form with recommendations for their continuation on swim team. Additionally, there are some swimmers we may recommend for the Hatchlings Swim Lesson Program. The evaluation will be done discretely and will not resemble a test at all. I promise it will be a stress-free swim practice for your child. Our goal in conducting these evaluations is to ensure all swimmers are able to safely participate on swim team and that each child is able to show progress and find individual success as a CRA Croc.
2. All parents - with our first meet on the horizon, I wanted to remind everyone to use the RSVP function on the swim team website. When planning meet entries and making relays, it is extremely helpful to know which swimmers will be in attendance at the meet. We prefer making as few changes as possible the day of the meet. Please RSVP for the first meet by the end of this week.
3. Regarding meet events - Our goal in creating a meet entry is for your child to find success in their own way; however, we also pick events with the entire team in mind. We want Canterbury to be competitive, and meet entries and relays are done strategically such that we have the very best chance at winning. We will always find ways to give kids opportunities to swim multiple events throughout the season, but in the end, our goal is for our team to be as competitive as possible.
That's it for now. Let me know if you have any questions. Go Crocs!
Sincerely,
Matt Togna
