Canterbury Crocs Food Drive
June 19th
Hello Canterbury families. I have some important news about Dunk Hunger this year. The Central VA Food Bank decided to take this year off from Dunk Hunger and is looking at ways to revamp or restructure the competition.
Even though there isn't a formal competition, the coaches have decided to continue collecting money and food for the Food Bank this summer as part of a Canterbury tradition. We will still have team competition events during our home meets like in previous years. The only difference will be that we are not competing against other teams.
Last year we were able to donate the equivalent of 5,000 pounds through cash and food items. This year let's try to beat that number!
- Our competition for this week (Wed., June 20) is Boys vs Girls. The winning group will be rewarded with ice pops and 20 minutes of fun practice (as determined by the coaches)!
- Our second home meet (Wed., June 27) is our "Pie the Coaches" contest! The coach that collects the most food and money will get pied at our final home meet!
- At our final home meet (Tues., July 17), we will hold a raffle so that 5 lucky winners will get to pie a coach in the face!
$1 = 4 pounds of food
No glass containers of any kind!
Thank you for supporting Canterbury and the Central VA Food Bank again this summer with your donations.
