Important Upcoming Events!
Good afternoon Canterbury Swim Team!
We’re less than a week away from our first swim meet! After two weeks working on stroke technique in practice, the coaching staff will be emphasizing skills such as dives and flip turns in practice this week to prepare for the meet. We’re looking forward to seeing how much our swimmers have improved from last season!
Canterbury Swim Team has a long tradition of giving back to our local community. I’m proud to announce that we will be supporting two charities this summer! We will continue to support the Central Virginia Food Bank through food drives at home meets and spirit nights like in years past. New this year, we will also be supporting Better2gether, a charity near and dear to our team that supports children with rare and complex diseases in the Richmond area. Stephanie Becker, founder of Better2gether, is not only organizing and transforming our annual Swim-a-thon this summer, but also encouraging other swim teams in GRAL to participate as well. On June 28th from 7:45 to 11:00 am, Canterbury will be competing against other participating teams for: most laps swam (both as a team and individually), most money raised (both as a team and individually), and fastest coaches relay. Please see flyer attached for more information!

Go Crocs!
Very Respectfully,
Coach Jack
P.S. – I wasn’t sure how to fit this in the email, but if you’re wondering what food to pack for the meet on Saturday, I highly recommend watermelon! It is great for hydration and contains natural sugars, exactly what swimmers need for a hot outdoor meet!
