    Final Email: Meet 2 Recap

    Good Morning Canterbury Swim Team

The coaches were all very impressed with everyone’s energy and effort at the swim meets. So many swimmers had best times and lots of swimmers cheered their friends and family on. As coaches we are saddened that we were only able to have two meets this summer; however, we feel incredibly lucky to have such a great team and amazing swimmers that helped us navigate this difficult summer. Everyone’s flexibility and dedication helped make our job so much easier. We would like to thank all of the swimmers and parents who supported us this summer. We all are hoping things will be back to normal next summer.

    Meet 2 Recap

    • Attached to this email are the results from the swim meets. Great job everyone!
    • We would like to thank all of the parents who volunteered to help with the meet. Without you this season wouldn’t have been possible.
    • We would like to give a special thank you to Mr. Ferguson, Mr. Carroll for starting the swim meets.
    • Lastly, we would like to thank our five seniors for supporting Canterbury throughout their entire childhood. Thank you to Christian Massengill, Elizabeth White, Cassandra Murchie, Lizzie Danforth, and Isaac Hull.

Many swimmers had great races and tried new events. Below are a few swimmers the coaches thought stood out in particular.

    • Scarlett Clark: Scarlett recently broke her wrist. However, she wouldn’t let this hold her back. She decided to swim every single event and the coaches are very impressed by her dedication.
    • Carter Rinaca: Carter decided to let the coaches pick his last event. We wanted to challenge him and put him in the 50 freestyle for the first time ever. Before the swim meet Carter expressed his nervousness to the coaches. He pushed back all his doubts and decided to swim the event. The coaches were all very proud of Carter’s decision to step out of his comfort zone and try a new event.
    • George Ferguson: Before the swim meet George was the only person to have signed up for the 100 Butterfly. Coach Lizzie (a division one swimmer) decided to give him some competition. George had a fantastic swim and did a great job against coach Lizzie and far surpassed the coach’s expectations. Great job George.

Once again, the coaches are extremely proud and thankful of every swimmer on our team.

    Very Respectfully,

    Coach Zach
