    Canterbury v Kings Charter

    Good morning Crocs!

    Our 3rd meet is this Wednesday, June 23rd. We are virtually hosting King’s Charter. 

    Meet schedule:

    4:30 - CRA swimmers and volunteers please arrive for positive check in.There will be a table set up by the tennis courts.You will receive your index card with your events.Gates will open at 4:45.You may enter the pool through the back gate by the diving boards.

    Seating;

    Since we are hosting an opponent this week at our pool, our seating will be restricted to the pavilion (primarily for the swimmers), the area to the left of the diving well and behind the pavilion. We will have more chairs set out than last home meet but you are welcome to bring your own. 

    Canterbury Café:

    No official cafe this meet but there will be Papa John’s individual pizzas for sale. The concession stand will be open.

    Clean Up Duty:

    Anyone willing and able, please stay and help clean up the pool deck area and put chairs/tables back at the end of the meet—more hands make this work quick and easy.All families—before you leave for the night, please check your area for trash, especially in and around the pavilion.

    Weather Policy:

    If there is a sighting of lightning or hearing of thunder, all participants must clear the fenced in pool area and go to their vehicles.The gate fence at the clerk of course end of the pool will be unlocked for exiting the pool in the event of lightning or thunder.Parent Reps, Meet Director, and the Pool Management will meet in the Computer Office to make a decision about the continuation of the meet.Update will be communicated via the Rained Out text alert system.If the meet is postponed, we will most likely reconvene the following evening.

    Parking:

    Please respect all painted handicapped markers and temporary parking markers for home and visiting coaches and support staff.Overflow parking is available along Covent and Walbrook Roads.Our neighbors are kind enough to tolerate the extra traffic but we ask that you obey the following rules in the neighborhood:

    • Please park on one side of the street only. Follow the “NO Parking” signs.
    • Respect street side lawns and plants.
    • Do not block driveways, hydrants or walkways.If you think you might be encroaching on a driveway, you probably are and should respectfully consider another parking spot.
    • Please pick up trash.
    • Park at your own risk.Canterbury Recreation Association is not responsible for damage or theft while parked in the neighborhoods near the club.
    • Please do not park along Pump Road.While you may witness this behavior, you park at your own risk of being blocked in or ticketed by Henrico County Police.
    • A Henrico County police officer will be on Pump Road from 4:30-7:30 to assist with pedestrian traffic.

    Volunteer Assignments:

    Please check in at the swimmer/volunteer check in before 5:30.If you are unable to fill your position it is your responsibility to find a replacement and notify Susan Zebley at [email protected].
