The Burkwood Buccaneers will welcome CANTERBURY on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22nd, 2022. Please note, this meet will occur at the NOVA Aquatic Center – Regency, since Burkwood’s competition pool is currently under construction.

Location: NOVA Aquatic Center - Regency located at 100 NOVA Way, Richmond, VA 23229. 

Timeline: 

• 4:30PM Teams begin check-in 
• 4:50PM Burkwood Warm Ups 
• 5:15PM Canterbury Warm Ups 
• 5:30PM Check-In Complete 
• 5:30PM Officials Meeting (in the Admin/Coaches office) 5:45PM Timers Meeting (in the Lobby) 
• 6:00PM Meet Start (Order of Events for Week 2) 

Pool Specifics: • NOVA’s Competition Pool is measured in yards and has 20 lanes. Only 8 lanes will be used for this meet. All spectators and swimmers need to stay out of the additional lanes in the Competition Pool. • Uniform 6'7" depth throughout. • Swimmers can dive in the start end and the turn end as well. • Warm-Up Pools will not be used at all. All spectators and swimmers need to stay out of the Warm-Up Pools.

Parking: Ample parking is available at NOVA Aquatic Center - Regency 

Seating: Bleachers are located along the turn end of the Competition Pool as well as alongside Lane 8. You may bring deck chairs for your use in the areas that are not cordoned off. Please inform your swimmers and parents that the unused portion of the Competition Pool as well as the Warm-Up Pools are off limits before, during, and after the meet.

Check-In: Your team can begin check-in at 4:30 p.m. Check-in must be completed by 5:30 p.m. Your list of scratched swimmers will be collected at 5:30 p.m. from a computer worker. A table will be set up for your check-in.

Clerk of Course: The Clerk of Course is located on the deck between the Competition Pool and the Warm-Up Pools. No spectators are allowed in the area other than the assigned workers.

Starter: Our starter is on the left side of the pool when standing on the blocks, so your swimmers who are not dive block certified will need an "X" for in-water starts or an "O" for side starts marked on their left shoulders. It

Please note, NOVA’s Competition Pool does not have a bulkhead, therefore, a false start rope will not be available.

Concessions: Chick-fil-a sandwiches and nuggets, as well as chips, water and Gatorade will be available beginning around 5:30 p.m. until they run out. CASH ONLY 

Weather: Inclement weather will not impact the meet as it is being held at an indoor facility.

Alcohol: In accordance with the league policy, we do not allow consumption of alcohol during the swim meet. Also, no glass containers, smoking, or alcohol is permitted on NOVA property.
