    Meet 4 Recap and Announcements

    Good Morning Canterbury Swim Team,

The weather did not want to cooperate this week, but we were able to still find time to have the meet. While there were unfortunately no relays this meet we had a bunch of amazing swims from all different age groups and we were able to get our third win of the season. I want to thank all the swimmers and parents who stayed up super late so we could complete the meet on Wednesday.

    Green Caps

Kinleigh Earle - Kinleigh has been working super hard at practice all summer. She did her first 25 breaststroke at our meet against Burkwood, and did her first ever 25 butterfly at the Colonies meet. All the coaches are super proud of all her hard work paying off.

Landon Baker - Landon has been working hard at practice. He continuously listens to the coaches advice and even asks for help on things he wants to work on. On top of that he’s a great teammate. Great job Landon!

    Coaches Highlights

Coach Zach - My highlight was Sean Hetzels 100 backstroke. He had never swam it before and got super pumped before his race and swam really well. It was great to see his attitude behind the blocks and the way he attacked a swim he had never done. Great job Sean!

Coach Claire - My swim of the meet would be the 8 and under girls 100 IM! We had 2 girls swim it for the first time, Opal Shea and Evie Kirllin. I was just so impressed with their determination and their willingness to step out of their comfort zone! They both swam so well! This was such a fun event to watch! And I’m so so proud of everyone who swam IM but especially these two girls for their hard work when learning IM turns and for executing beautifully! Also shoutout to Steph Geisel for getting her first champs time in 100 fly! Super proud of her hard work and her attitude toward such a tough race!

Coach Savannah - My highlight would be Henry Bise because even though the meet was running late and he was pretty tired, he managed to push through until his last event and go super fast.

Coach Lizzie - Opal Shea and Evie Krillin 100 IM, they both were so ready to swim it and their hard work this season has really paid off!

    Meet 5 Information and Announcements

    • The theme of this meet will be Jerseys for Julia. Julia’s favorite meet theme was always sports jerseys, so we encourage everyone to wear a sports jersey to the meet.
    • Please see the note below from our dunk hunger volunteers, William Bremer, Eleanor Cribbs, and Josh Zebley.
    • “Last week we collected 640 pounds of food and raised $1,200.82 for FeedMore, which provided the materials for 5,337 meals! We are so appreciative of all of your donations and want to keep up this trend to continue to help the community. This week, the theme of the meet is Jerseys For Julia and we will be donating food in her honor. All canned goods and monetary donations are very appreciated. The age group that raises the most will win popsicles after a practice. Good luck at the swim meet, and let’s Dunk Hunger!”
    • Next Saturday we have our swim clinic reserved for close champs qualifiers. Any swimmers who have an advanced time (adv) AND less than four champs cuts are eligible to come to the clinic. After the meet on Wednesday we will open up the sign ups. Top times for all swimmers can be found here.

    GO CROCS!

    Very Respectfully,

    Coach Zach
