Meet 6 Recap
Good Afternoon Crocs,
We had a fantastic final swim meet against Hungary Creek. We were able to get another win and finish the season 5 – 1. On top of that we were finally able finish relays and complete the meet without a weather delay 😊. It was great to continue the tradition of jumping in the pool at the last meet and was a super memorable way to end the regular season. We all look forward to seeing everyone at the Banquet.
Green Caps
Lily Meyer – Lily has been working so hard to make champs in the 50 breaststroke even practicing her starts and turns outside of practice! At the meet not only did she make champs she dropped three seconds and got a varsity time. Congrats Lily!
Spencer Hume – Spencer has been working hard all season and been a great positive influence at practice. He listens very well and has improved so much this year. Great job Spencer!
Coaches Highlights
Coach Zach – My swim of the meet was Richie Schrier’s 50 breast. He came to practice twice on Monday before the meet to work on his breaststroke. He ended up getting the champs cut in practice so we knew he could do it at the meet. He got super pumped up before his race, swam a perfect race, and got his first champs cut. Congrats Richie!
Coach Claire - My swim of the meet is Evie Kirillin for dropping 4 seconds in her 25 back and 5 seconds in her 25 fly which is 2 new champs cuts for her! She works so hard in practice and always has a positive attitude and lots of enthusiasm!
Special shout out for Meredith McDearmon’s first 25 breast! She did amazing and kept a positive attitude the whole night! Can’t wait to see her swim IM next season!
Also shout out to Hank Morton’s amazing first 25 fly!
Congrats to everyone who swam new events for the first time at our last meet we are so proud of your hard work, determination and willingness to try something new!
Coach Aidan - My swim of the meet goes to Isaac Baker. His 50 freestyle stood out to me because despite his doubts before the race, he was able to win his heat from the outside lane and drop 4 seconds off his best time!
Coach Lizzie - Beatrice Clarke was my swim of the meet. She has been working all summer for her champs cut, even asking us to help us fix her start and her pull out. I see her practicing by herself even after practice is over. After all that hard work she finally got her champs cut in the 25 breast!
Coach Savannah - My swim of the meet would have to be Rose Cimino's 25 fly because it was her first time doing fly and she absolutely rocked and it had fun doing it!
Coach Emily - My swim of the meet was Max Gould’s 100 IM! He got a champs cut despite his googles falling off in the beginning of the event, and I’m so proud of him for not giving up! It was such an awesome swim to watch and see such incredible dedication!
Records
Maddie Bynum – Maddie broke the Canterbury record in the 11-12 100 IM with a time of 1:11.26. Congrats Maddie on a great season!
Dunk Hunger
Thank you to our Dunk Hunger volunteers William Bremer, Eleanor Cribbs, and Josh Zebley. They did a fantastic job this season and raised a total of 8,802 meals, a Canterbury Dunk Hunger record! This goes to show that Canterbury Swim Team is about so much more than swimming. Thank you to everyone who donated!
It has been a pleasure coaching everyone this summer and I am looking forward to a fun and fast champs next weekend. I hope to see everyone at the banquet! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns at [email protected].
Very Respectfully,
Coach Zach
