Hi Crocs!  I hope everyone is enjoying the start to the season!  Here are some old and new updates and reminders as we start the season.

Here is the 2023 CRA Swimmer and Parent Handbook.  If you are new to swim team, this is a great read to learn all about it!

Spirit Wear:

Click here to order spirit wear.  All orders must be in by Friday, May 26.  I have been told that I should be able to pick up our spirit wear orders by our first meet.  If I get them in time, I will communicate a date that orders will be handed out.

Team Swim Suit:

If you still need a team swim suit, you will need to either order it through this link and pick it up at the VA Swim Shop at NOVA Regency or you can go directly to the swim shop to get fitted and purchase it there.

Silicon Swim Caps:

If you ordered a silicon swim cap and would like to pick it up prior to the New Parent Meeting on June 8 or the Ice Cream Social on June 12, please email [email protected] to schedule a pickup.  I can leave your cap/s on my front porch for you to pickup at your convenience.

Rained Out:

We strongly encourage all parents, guardians, and swimmers with phones to register. There are three different ways to register for rained out listed below.

1. Text CANTERBURY to 84483. You will receive an automated confirmation in return; OR

2. Go to https://www.rainedout.net/team_page.php?a=f9af6c3a9fd8cd4155c9 and follow the instructions; OR

3. Go to www.RainedOut.com and search for Canterbury Swim Team. Follow the instructions to sign up.

New Parent Meeting:

We will have a new parent meeting on Thursday, June 8 at 4:30pm.  This is not required, but a great time for new families to come learn about swim team and swim meets.  

Meet Signups:

You can now sign up to attend swim meets.  You will sign up by logging into your Swimtopia account and clicking on 2023 Schedule.  You will then click the Meet Entry button to let the coaches know if your child/children will participate in each meet.  You need to let the coaches know if you will participate in each meet by the Friday before the meet.  For instance, for the June 14 meet, you need to complete the meet entry notification by Friday, June 9.

Social Events:

All of the social events for swim team are now on Swimtopia under the 2023 Schedule.  Our first event is an Ice Cream Social on Monday, June 12 from 6-8pm.  We are asking that families RSVP and sign up to bring a topping to share or other item needed.  You will find both of these things on the 2023 Schedule.  Bringing an item to share does not take the place of a required volunteer shift for a swim meet.

• June 19- Picnic at Deep Run Park 12-2pm
• June 29- Pizza Party 6-8pm
  • Swimmers and families may participate.  Pizza is $3/person.  We are asking that you RSVP on this sign up genius.  Payment for pizza is to be sent via Venmo to Karen Baker at @Karen-Baker-121.  Please RSVP and pay for pizza by Friday, June 22.
• July 14- Popcorn Bar at Movie Night 6:30pm
• July 25- Banquet, time TBD (July 26 is the Banquet rain date)

Practice:

There is no practice on Fridays until morning practices start the week of June 12.  There will be no practice on Monday, May 29 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
