    Meet #4 Recap

    Good Evening Crocs!

After a long couple days of twists and turns, we are proud to say the Wyndham meet is done and we have our third win of the season! While this week brought us some challenges, we had so many awesome swims/time drops that can be found throughout all age groups! Thank you again to all of the parent volunteers who made the meets run so smoothly at every turn this week! It is hard to believe we are over halfway through the season!

    Green Caps

Green Caps are given at the start of every meet to a few swimmers who the coaches would like to recognize for their performance in practice, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the past week. This week the coaches recognized Greta Craig (11), Owen Yeargain (9), and Eliza Marshall (8)!

Greta – Greta is consistently working to make improvements on her diving and stroke technique at practice. While she is a new Canterbury Croc this summer, you wouldn't know that due to her versatility in events and mastery of all four strokes! She takes feedback well and makes an effort to cheer for her teammates.

Owen – Owen has been practicing with the 9-10 year old group this season (as he is actually 9!) even though he has a birthday that lets him swim in the 8 and under events at meets! He has been working hard to learn and try new things at practice/meets. He also going to give breastroke a try at the meet this week! He has a positive attitude and is always willing to give anything a try!

Eliza – Eliza has been working hard on her breastroke this week as she has made a goal to try to make champs in that event! She is determined and persistent with her efforts in practice. She is a great listener and we can't wait to see how she does this week at the meet!

    Coaches Highlights

Coach Lauren – “My swimmer of the meet goes to Ellie Becker for her 22 second time drop in her 100 fly! She crushed this swim after we had to stop the meet at our pool and drive over to Wyndham. Congrats on the advanced time, Ellie!"

Coach Kate - “My shout out for the meet goes to Delainey Gurley because she swim 25 butterfly for the first time and did amazing! She has been working very hard on her butterfly over the past week and it showed in her race! I'm so proud of her!"

Coach Eleanor - “I loved Dylan Gurley's 100 IM! It was his first time swimming it and he got his first CHAMPS cut!"

Coach Savannah - “I loved watching Noah Sleeman's 25 breastroke as he was so pumped for it and ended up getting 1st place!"

Coach William- "My favorite swim of the meet was Isaac Baker's awesome 50 backstroke. He was nervous about it but ended up doing a really great job!"

Congratulations everyone on a great meet! You can see the meet results once they are posted on the meet information on the GRAL website. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at [email protected].

    Meet #5 Theme- SUPERHEROES!

Inspired by the superhero music we heard at the Ashland meet, our Meet #5 theme will be SUPERHERO! Dress up as your favorite superhero or just as yourself because you all have super powers around the pool :)

Breastroke Clinic Makeup- Thursday Afternoon July 13

In an effort to provide a time to makeup our breastroke clinic that we had to cancel today, we will hold a breastroke specific practice this Thursday afternoon, July 13. The first hour of 4-5pm will be for 10 and under swimmers, with the second hour from 5-6pm being for the 11 and older swimmers.

Close CHAMPS Qualifiers Clinic-Saturday July 15

As a coaching staff, we will be reaching out by email this week to families of swimmer(s) who we would like to invite to this clinic. Keep a lookout for an invite to this session- it will be very specific to help try to get a CHAMPS time at the last meet of the season at Burkwood!

    GO CROCS!

    Sincerely,

    Coach Lauren
