    Meet #5 Recap!

    Good Evening Crocs!

I wanted to congratulate everyone on a wonderful last home meet of the season last night! It was an awesome meet between celebrating our four incredible senior Croc swimmers (Matt Danforth, Savannah Eakes, Aidan Jacobs, and David Speich) and our Dunk Hunger campaign event! We managed to also earn our fourth win of the season by using the majority of our team to swim 34 total relays over the course of the night! It is hard to believe we only have one regular season meet next Tuesday before we celebrate the team successes and head to CHAMPS! I know we aren't done quite yet but I want to start the thank you early to everyone for everything you've done to help make this season a success!

    Green Caps

Green Caps are given at the start of every meet to a few swimmers who the coaches would like to recognize for their performance in practice, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the past week. This week the coaches recognized Grace Morton (5), Annie White (8), and Tobin Zebley (15)!

Grace – Last week Grace swam her first swim team practice of the season after working on her skills in the Hatchlings program this summer and swam in her first meet against Wyndham! Over the past week she has shown that she has both an awesome backstroke and freestyle at practice! Way to go, Grace!

Annie –  Annie has been practicing really hard and doubling up with her younger brothers quite a few days at practice this week! She always has a smile on her face and is ready when asked to lead her lane while working on any stroke! Awesome job, Annie!

Tobin – Tobin has been coming to practice consistently ready to race this week. He has put in a lot of hard work on sprinting at practice and the coaching staff is excited to see him race at the meet. He also is always respectful with the coaching staff even if it comes to swimming strokes or events he doesn't necessarily enjoy! Thank you, Tobin!

    Coaches Highlights

Coach Lauren – “I'd like to give a shout out to Ryan Walters for his 23 second time drop in his 100 free! He's been putting in a lot of work on his dive and stroke at practice! It was awesome to see that all come together in his first race of the night!"

Coach Eleanor - “My swim of the meet goes to Nora Evans for hopping in to swim in a relay at the last minute and doing an awesome job in her first ever swim meet!"

Coach Savannah - “My swimmer of the meet is Hudson Spigelmeyer for his awesome 50 fly because he was so nervous beforehand but absolutely crushed and won his heat with his goggles not on his eyes!"

Coach William- "Owen Bremer is my swimmer of the meet last night as he dropped an impressive 20 seconds in his 50 fly."

Coach Emily- "Cooper Hallberg deserves a shout out for doing an amazing job and dropping so much time in all three of his events! I also loved his sportsmanship and fun energy throughout the meet. Great job, Cooper!"

Honorable mention also goes to Snake Boyd, Aidan Jacobs, and David Speich, who coordinated with the boys from Church Run in their heat to do belly flops and a synchronized 50 butterfly that led to a first place tie between Aidan and his friend, Eric!

Congratulations everyone on a great meet! You can see the meet results once they are posted on the meet information on the GRAL website. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at [email protected].
