Meet #1 Recap
Good Afternoon Crocs,
Last night's first meet of the season against Wyndham was comfy pajamas, excellent cheering, and huge time drops across the entire team! We came away with our first win of the season and we appreciate all of the awesome team efforts both in/out of the pool! The coaching staff is incredibly proud of all of our Croc swimmers! We had so many swimmers trying a new event for the first time, lots of personal best times by 3 or more seconds, and quite a few Champs qualifiers! I would like to thank all of the parents, volunteers, and swimmers for working throughout the meet to bring the energy, positivity, team spirit, and sportsmanship!
Green Caps
Green Caps are given at the start of every meet to a few swimmers who the coaches would like to recognize for their performance in practice, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the past week. Last night, our coaches recognized James Southern and Norah Chang!
James (11)– He is new to swim team this season but has been putting a lot of hard work at practice over the past two weeks of practice! He has arrived to every practice eager to try anything asked of him and has grown so much as a swimmer already! We are so glad to have James join us on the team this summer!
Norah (9)– She is really finding her confidence in the pool since the season started to now. Norah is another new swimmer to the team and while most of the strokes are things she is learning for the first time, she always approaches them with a smile and a willingness to try! Way to go, Norah!
Coaches Highlights
Coach Lauren – “My swimmer of the meet goes to Lillian Baldwin. Not only did Lillian have an awesome 50 backstroke where she dropped 4 seconds, but she showed extra support to her meet buddy, Delaney Kinsler in the clerk of course. Lillian swam her 50 breastroke and then immediately went to get the sign she made for Delaney to make her smile before her first swim. It was such a wonderful gesture and I could see how much it helped Delaney get excited to swim :)"
Coach Aurora - “My swim of the meet goes to Reagan Lynch for her amazing 50 freestyle where she dropped over 20 seconds! Great job Reagan, keep up the good work!"
Coach Kate - “My swim of the meet goes to Mae Trinh's 50 back! Mae was on fire last night, but her 50 back was so fun to watch! Her hand speed and technique were spot on, which led her to dropping 5 seconds!! Keep it up, Mae!"
Coach Steph - “I was super impressed by all of our crocs races from our first meet but would specifically like to shoutout two swimmers. First, Wells Francisco's 25 freestyle. He dropped a total of 8 seconds off his time and absolutely crushed his race. Way to go, Wells! I would also like to shoutout Allie Earle's 50 freestyle. She dropped 7 seconds and even got a heat win! Her race blew me away. Keep it up, Allie! I'm so proud of all of our crocs! Your hard work does not go unnoticed!"
Coach William - "My swim of the meet goes to Kennedy Dixon for her awesome 12.5 second drop in the 100 freestyle. She has been working very hard in practice and it paid off! Great job, Kennedy!"
Congratulations everyone on a great first meet!

Sportsmanship/Teamwork
One my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou- "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how your made them feel." Sportsmanship and teamwork are two of the most important things that lead a team to success. Don't forget to continue to tell people good job/give a high five after each swim. Make it a goal to always give at least acknowledgement before getting out of the pool. The sport is full of great swims and learning experiences- it is important to recognize them all! Along that same line, it is important to be there for all of our Croc teammates if we notice someone is nervous or needs some extra encouragement- I saw that in so many situations last night at the meet and loved seeing how it helped to boost the swimmer to get excited before a race and be able to finish a race strong :)
