    Meet #2 Recap

    Good Afternoon Crocs,

Meet #2 brought many more big time drops, division improvements, first time swims in new events, and lots of tie dye/team spirit! While we didn't come away with the win against Burkwood, there were so wonderful swims highlighted across the night! Please read below and let me know if you have any questions! Reminder that our meet at Church Run is next Tuesday, July 17, so remember to check your RSVP by tomorrow so I can get entries ready this weekend :) Church Run is another big team so it would be amazing to have as many swimmers as we can at the meet!

    Green Caps

Green Caps are given at the start of every meet to a few swimmers who the coaches would like to recognize for their performance in practice, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the past week. This week the coaches recognized Emma Robinson (6) and Leven Winebrenner (10)!

Emma – Emma is new to swim team this year but is fearless in the water. She is always ready to try new things at practice and smile along the way. She has made so much progress since the start of the season and the coaching staff is so proud to see it!

Leven – Leven works hard to improve every time he is at the pool. He is always aware of what we are doing at practice and does a great job of putting his best effort forward in any stroke/event he swims. His excitement and energy for swimming is always noticed by the coaches and his teammates!

    Coaches Highlights from Meet #2

Coach Lauren – “My swim of the meet goes to Abigail Lauder for her beautiful 50 breastroke last night. Abigail loves breastroke but has been working through figuring out the timing of the breath within the stroke/kick for the past two seasons. Last night it all came together in the most perfect breastroke swim I have ever seen from her! She dropped 9 whole seconds of time and I loved seeing the huge smile on her face when she finished. Awesome work, Abigail!"

Coach Aurora - “My swim of the meet goes to Rose Cimino for her awesome 100 IM! She dropped over 14 seconds in this event, and she also had impressive swims and time drops in her 50 back and 50 fly! Way to go, Rose!"

Coach Ellie - “My swim of the meet goes to Hank Morton for his 100 IM! Hank dropped 17.89 seconds off his previous time and really focused on the coaches critiques on his strokes! It's awesome to see how much he is improving and how much his work is paying off!"

Coach Kate - “My swim of the meet goes to Henry Bise's 100 IM! Henry absolutely crushed all of his races last night (with all huge time drops), but his 15 second time drop and new SV time in the 100 IM really impressed me! He is a true competitor and it's so fun to watch him race!"

Coach Steph- "My swim of the meet goes to James Southern for his outstanding 50 backstroke. James has been putting in the hard work at practice, and it truly paid off he dropped three seconds from his time last week and even won his heat! I'm especially impressed by his willingness to try new things and always give 100% in everything he does. Amazing job, James! I can't wait to see where the rest of the season takes you!"

Coach William- "My swim of the meet goes to Johnny Marshall for his awesome 6.28 second time drop in his 25 backstroke! He has been working very hard in practicing and his hard work is paying off!"
