CHAMPS Day 2 Recap/Thank You
Good Evening Crocs,
An amazing second day of CHAMPS led to our team finishing 8th overall with a total of 477 points! We had fun filled two days of racing with great time drops, many medals won, and lots of cheering! Any medals not received at the meet has been taken to our pool and left in your folder in the ribbon box at the front with the trophies from the banquet! Congratulations on a wonderful season, Crocs :) Sorry for the length of this email but hope you enjoy reading all of the exciting news!
LEN EVERETT SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
I am proud to report that earlier today our Canterbury team was also recognized for the Len Everett Sportsmanship Award for Division 1 teams in the league. The Len Everett Sportsmanship Award was established in 1984 by the Greater Richmond Aquatic League (GRAL) to honor the memory of a man who was instrumental in the founding and structuring of the league. Leonard Everett, from Hungary Creek Recreation Association, stood for the highest ideals of fair competition and good sportsmanship. A plaque is awarded every year to one club in each division whose swimmers, coaches, and parents have best exhibited these qualities. The GRAL Board Representative from each team submit their first and second choice for this award. The choices must come from within the voting team’s same division, and the voting team cannot include itself. One award is given out for each division. We are proud and honored to be recognized by the league as shows the wonderful values we have and display as a team at every meet. We hope to find a place to proudly display our shiny new plaque at the pool. In an effort to celebrate this moment, please see the attached photo! We took of our coaching staff and got creative with photoshopping Coach Kate in since she was swimming fast at a different pool this weekend! Congrats to our coaching staff and the Canterbury team for this awesome acknowledgement!

THANK YOU
Thank you for all your spirit, volunteering, cheering, and support this summer. Summer league is where my love for the sport of swimming began, and always enjoy watching so many memories be made in the pool each summer. I am so lucky to be a part of Canterbury, where we truly have a wonderful group of swimmers/people, a deep crowd of supporters, amazing parent volunteers, a solid crew of officials/referees, and knowledgeable assistant coaches.
CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN ON AN AMAZING SEASON, CROCS! I couldn't be more proud of you all! I hope everyone has a wonderful end of summer and start back to the school year!
Sincerely,
Coach Lauren
