Meet #3 Recap
Good Evening Crocs!
I want to first thank everyone on a great third meet last night! While we ended up just one hundred points short of a team win, the efforts of everyone in attendance were clear. I appreciate the large showing of TIE DYE spirit, sportsmanship, and racing efforts in the pool. We are proud of the hard work that could be seen both in and out of the water last night. On that note, please see below for a couple of important notes as we approach our last three regular season dual meets of this summer.
Availability
There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make sure the team is in the best position to have the correct individual swims, relay team swims, and the best chance of the team scoring as many points as possible. If you would like to request an event for your swimmer(s), need to arrive after warm-ups, or cannot stay late for a relay, all of that can be communicated through the website by adding a comment or emailing me directly at [email protected] prior to the deadline on Fridays each week. Please check your availability on the website now for the last three meets for your swimmer(s) to help me plan for the remainder of the season and finish the summer with a strong team effort!
Green Caps
Green Caps are given at the start of every meet to a few swimmers who the coaches would like to recognize for their performance in practice, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the past week. This week the coaches want to recognize Everly Yeager (7) and Ethan Marr (18)
Everly – "Everly is new to being a Canterbury croc swimmer this year but has a clear passion for water, learning about swimming, and being an excellent teammate to others! The coaches appreciate her eagerness to be in the pool, willness to try new things even when she's unsure, and the energy she brings to each practice. We are excited to see what you do next, Everly!"
Ethan – "Ethan is an a role model for so many croc swimmers both in and out of the pool. He sets a positive example with his consistent practice attendance, work ethic in the pool, and willingness to make both teammates/coaches smile. We are so lucky for your leadership, your humor, your willingness to step up in any situation, and your work ethic! We are going to miss having you as a croc swimmer when you head off to college in the fall, Ethan!"
Coaches Highlights
Coach Aurora - “My swim of the meet goes to Emma Robinson for her 25 butterfly swim! She was little nervous to race this event for the first time, but she did an amazing job and even got first place! Way to go, Emma!"
Coach Ellie - "My swim of the meet goes to Theo Boyce for his amazing 100 IM! Theo dropped almost 16 seconds off his 100 IM time after lots of hard work in practice! Theo always puts his best foot forward and asks for advice on his swims and it really pays off! Awesome work, Theo!"
Coach Kate - “My swim of the meet goes to Vivi Alsey and all of her swims last night! She dropped 7.5 seconds in the 50 back, almost 9 seconds in the 50 free, and tried the 100 breast for the first time! Moving up to a new age group is not easy, but I'm so proud of Vivi's hard work and consistency in practice! Amazing swims, Vivi!"
Coach Lauren - “My shout out of the meet goes to Eliza Marshall for going 3/3 last night in her individual events with time drops! Eliza has been coming to practice extra to contine to work on the little details of swimming and improve her strength in all events! She's been doing an awesome job of asking for feedback, working on the little pieces every time she can at practice, and being a great teammate to everyone around her! We're proud of you, Eliza!"
Coach Steph - “My swim of the meet goes to Cole Kinsler for his 50 breaststroke! Cole dropped 15 seconds off his previous time! Cole is always a hard worker in practice, he comes with the best attitude, which is inspiring to others. Keep crushing it, Cole! I can't wait to see what you accomplish!"
