    Meet #4 Recap at Colonies

    Good Afternoon Crocs!

I hope this email finds you smiling as you reflect on an amazing meet last night. We brought home our second team win of the season against Colonies last night! While the meet was very fast paced, the amount of green for Lucia Bremer that could be found around the entire pool deck from both teams was incredible! The team spirit, sportsmanship, and efforts of everyone on the team at each meet are at the heart of what makes the Canterbury swim team so great. Thank you for bringing the energy, the sportsmanship, and support to every event last night. As a coaching staff we are very proud of all the accomplishments that were achieved in and out of the pool. Please read all of the recap below and as always, reach out if you have questions!

    Green Caps

Green Caps are given at the start of every meet to a few swimmers who the coaches would like to recognize for their performance in practice, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the past week. This week the coaches recognized Mae Butrico (10) and Carlin Stamm (12)!

Mae – Mae brings the energy, effort, and a smile to every practice she attends! She is an incredibly hard worker, supportive teammate, and never complains about any event we have her do! As a coaching staff, we are proud to have her a croc swimmer and enjoy watching her race every time she gets in the pool! Way to go, Mae!

Carlin – Carlin is an amazing athlete, teammate, and person! He has an incredible ability to dig deep everyday togo out of his way to bring the spirit, energy, and effort to everything he does. Carlin loves to race and brings excitement to any event we put him in, but even more than that, he always finds an opportunity to show support for those around him at the end of the race too! We are proud of the role model he is on the team! Awesome job, Carlin!

    Coaches Highlights

Coach Aurora - “My swim of the meet goes to the 15-18 A Relay (Ryan Price, Tim Speich, Emmett Weeks, and Anne Reagan Eakes)! This was one of the most exciting races of the season so far, and every swimmer in this relay put their absolute best effort into their swim to pull off a win in a photo finish at the end of the meet! Way to go everyone!"

Coach Ellie - “My swim of the meet goes to Rose Cimino for her 100 free and 50 fly. Rose never fails to impress the coaches with her determination to beat her times and race her hardest in every event she swims. Rose is a role model for younger swimmers with her work ethic and her desire to make progress! Keep up the hard work, Rose!"

Coach Kate - “My swim of the meet goes to all of the 15-18 guys who swam the 100 fly last night! We had 9 of them step up and swim it last night with no complaints, and this helped us to score 44 points and start our lead against the Colonies! It was such a fun moment to watch and showed great Canterbury team spirit and leadership! We are so proud of each of you!"

Coach Lauren – “My swim of the meet goes to Wes Schurter and Hollis Eib's swims in the 50 breaststroke! These two are quite the dynamic duo at practice, during free swim, and at meets. While racing last night in the same heat they were determined to race each other on opposite sides of the pool and in the process they both dropped significant time. Hollis dropped 2 more seconds off his season best time and Wes dropped 10 seconds! We love your energy, friendship, and enthusiasm for racing! Awesome job, boys!"

Coach Steph - “My swim of the meet goes to Sammy Cuccherini, Mae Butrico, Hank Morton, and Lexi Hromyak for their hard work in their relay! This race was so much fun to watch from start to finish! Even while racing against tough competition, each swimmer gave 100% and never stopped fighting until they touched the wall. Their teamwork and determination made this a special swim. We are proud of you guys and keep up the hard work!"

Coach William - “My swim of the meet goes to Johnny Marshall for his awesome 25 freestyle and 50 freestyle. He dropped 6.3 seconds in his 25 free and almost 11 seconds in his 50 free! He has been working very hard in practice and his hard work is paying off! Keep up the good work, Johnny!"
