Recap of today's parent meeting
Team,
Thanks to all those who came out today. Jane, Jack, Emily, Julianne, and I are all very excited for the upcoming season and we hope you are as well. For those unable to attend, here is a recap of the parent meeting. Please let me know if you have any questions:
Practice:
* While we encourage all swimmers to come to as many practices as possible, it is not mandatory and you do not need to notify us of absences.
* In fairness to all swimmers and to avoid overcrowding, please attend your assigned practice time only. We will assign swimmers to lanes based on ability in order to deliver the most effective workout and instruction as possible.
* Once school lets out for the summer, please attend either the morning practice or the evening practice.
Evaluation Day:
*Evaluation day is scheduled for Thursday, May 18. Our intent for this day is to assess all swimmers while they go through a normal practice. Our goal is to make this season fun and safe for swimmers of all abilities and evaluation day is not intended to be an intimidating experience. Instead, the coaching staff will simply be watching to make sure all swimmers are capable of making it across the pool safely and in a reasonable amount of time. We will provide all swimmers 6 and under and all new 7 and 8 year old swimmers with feedback and recommendations for either continuing on the team, or changing to the Hatchlings Swim Lessons Program on May 18. Should weather be an issue next week, we will re-schedule evaluation day for the following week.
Meets:
* Please use the online RSVP link to let us know which meets you can and cannot attend. Meet entries are a time consuming task and we need to make sure our entries and relays are as accurate as possible before the meet starts. We ask that you RSVP as soon as possible. The deadline to RSVP is one week prior to the meet.
* Please trust us to put your child in events they are capable of being successful in. We will enter swimmers in events that they are most likely to score points in. While disqualifications are certainly possible at any age and skill level, we will do our best to prepare your child for new events.
* Coaches will complete all entries for all meets; however, we will allow swimmers to choose their events for the final meet against Ashcreek. Our goal is to be competitive while also making sure you swim events you enjoy, are good at ,and can score points in.
That's it for now! Thank you again to those who came out to the pool today. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. See you May 15 and, as always, GO CROCS!
Take care,
Matt
